Thanks to Harry Potter's Hermione, Emma Watson is one of THE most famous faces on the planet - and, with The Bling Ring set to hit cinemas, it doesn't seem as if that will be changing anytime soon.

So imagine how shocked we were to discover that the gorgeous actress had absolutely no idea how well known she was until she attended college in the US.

Speaking to Teen Vogue, Emma explained that dealing with fame is something she never had to worry about until her late teens, as she spent so much of her time on set:

"I think, in a way, I was very protected during Harry Potter, because I was working all the time. I would get in the car, go to the studio, and go home."

But it was moving to America and enrolling in Browns University that really helped hammer home the point that Emma Watson WAS a global superstar - and it came as something of a culture shock to her:

"It sounds stupid, or completely unbelievable, but that was when I really realized that I was famous."

"There are still days when I deal with [fame] horribly and there are days when I deal with it really well."

But it seems as if the acting bug has well and truly bitten Emma and she has given no sign of slowing things down just yet; after all, it was announced just weeks ago that she will be starring in Queen of The Tearling - dubbed by many as a "female-oriented Game Of Thrones'.

And, this time, she'll be starring as the lead. We've got our fingers tightly crossed that fame is a small price to pay for critical acclaim - we've got high hopes for THIS fantasy film.
