Shameless Photography is the US company shaking up society's view of what makes a woman beautiful by transforming everyday women into stunning pin-ups.
Started by photographer Sophie Spinelle in 2009, with bases in New York and San Francisco, the Shameless team aim to help their clients 'feel safe, beautiful, and empowered' by making them the stars of their own beautiful, personal and super-fun pin-up photo shoots.
"No model or movie star owns the realm of fantasy — we all do," the Shameless website reads. "In some small way, we hope that our business can help women to feel more empowered and embodied — and to see femininity as a space of play and possibility rather than shame." That sentiment gets a gigantic thumbs up from our Cosmo Body team.
"We get hundreds of amazing letters from around the world," Spinelle told The Huffington Post. "People with cancer, rape survivors, mothers of seven, trans women, pole dancers - you name it. We post a selection of the letters and invite people to read them and share them."
"Doing this work has transformed my life," she continued. "I've met the most amazing people, and they've been brave enough to share their fears and dreams with me, and to have that become part of the photographs.
"I've learned how rare confidence really is, and how precious. You'd be amazed how many truly beautiful people have no idea that they're beautiful, and it has a huge affect on what they feel is possible for their lives."
AMAZING or what? Now there's just the small issue of saving up the bajillion quid it'll cost to nip over to the states for our own pin-up shoot...
