Last night was 'Free From' night on The Great British Bake Off - a perfectly acceptable theme for an episode, you might think. But while cake consumers across the world are enjoying the delights of gluten, dairy and whatever-else-free baking, GBBO viewers have spoken…

GBBO is no place for Free From baking BBC. What were you thinking?

To be fair, some viewers were chuffed at finally seeing some alternative baking techniques. One user wrote: "As someone who is gluten & lactose intolerant, I loved @BritishBakeOff this week. See how difficult life is if you have intolerances?! #GBBO".

But mostly, Twitter was filled with sadness and disappointment at the idea of this week's episode, claiming sugar-free cakes are not really cakes at all.

I mean, we can see where you're coming from, but can we please spare a thought for people who actually have to eat free-from foods for medical reasons? A gluten-free cake is probably more widely eaten that a Spanische Windtorte. Just saying...

But one thing this week's episode definitely wasn't free from, is tiny iced women with tiny iced penises. All thanks to Paul's expert work:
