Today's Cosmo salute goes to Keira Knightley, who has announced that she thinks "it's great" that more people are openly discussing feminism.

The actress told Harper's Bazaar that she's pleased to see a shift in attitudes, but thinks that more needs to be done to tackle sexism in the film industry.

She said: "I think it's great, what's happening at the moment, I think it's great that the discussions are finally being allowed to be had, as opposed to anybody mentioning feminism and everybody going, 'oh, f**king shut up'.

"Somehow, it became a dirty word. I thought it was really weird for a long time, and I think it's great we're coming out of that."

However, when it came to women's position in the film industry, Keira said: "Hollywood has a really long way to go. I don't think that anybody can deny that, really, and I think as much as you are getting more women playing lead roles, they're still pretty few and far between."

Keira also talked about deactivating her Twitter account after only 12 hours. "It made me feel a little bit like being in a school playground and not being popular and standing on the sidelines kind of going, 'Argh'" explained the actress, "I like being private."

The full interview appears in the February edition of Harper's Bazaar.
