Vanessa Hudgens' new movie Frozen Ground is the kind you need to follow up with two hours of E! afterwards to cancel out the trauma. But don't let that put you off.

The Hudge plays Cindy Paulson – the only surviving victim of serial killer Robert Hansen who manages to escape his horrific violence. And the intense fear she puts across in the role is bone-chilling - a million miles from her days as a Disney darling in High School Musical.

Speaking to Cosmo in our video interview she admits in real life she hasn't ever come close to such a horrific situation herself but she has had experiences with stalkers and some 'interesting characters' in the past. She also urges women to be safe and says the story shows how there are some very disturbed people out there you have to be streetwise to. Robert Hansen stalked and murdered between 17 and 21 young women in the 1980s, kidnapping and attacking them before taking them out to the Alaskan wilderness and shooting them like animals. Chilling stuff.

LA girl Vanessa also dished out her summer style advice for us usually sun-deprive British Cosmo girls. Watch the video for her tips on loading up accessories and going boho.
