But it seems Wills has been left a little bemused by Kate's sartorial choices. Blinded by the brights would perhaps be a better way of putting it.
When Kate stepped out in a yellow Roksanda Ilincic dress she sparked a wave of admiration from fashion commentators.
The Duke of Cambridge? Not impressed, apparently. "William said I look like a banana", revealed Kate, when she spoke with Heather Easton, one of the many well-wishers who lined the streets around the Sydney Opera House.
Considering this dress currently retails at £950, that's one expensive banana, Wills.
But this is not the first time William has commented on Kate's tour style.
A few days ago while they were in New Zealand, another fan in the crowd - this time Bev Hayes, 68, from Cambridge - revealed that Wills wasn't keen on Kate's Erdem coat.
When Bev complimented Kate on the emerald-green number, the Duchess replied that "she liked it but Prince William thought it was a bit bright."
