A group of Christian filmmakers somewhere must have been highly unsettled when E L James' extremely sexual S&M novel hit the shelves a couple of years ago and took the world by storm. Which is potentially why they've created their version of a good film, Old Fashioned, to be released just in time to coincide with that of the 50 Shades movie, which stars the delightfully gorgeous Jamie Dornan and co.

Focussing more on religion than sex, Old Fashioned apparently tells "a love story that takes the idea of Godly romance seriously", according to triple threat Rik Swartzwelder (he writes, directs AND stars in the film). But it's got quite a niche audience, from what Mark Borde, co-president of the film's distribution company Freestyle, says. "It's the first faith-based theatrical release to specifically target the underserved Christian singles audience", he explains. So all the underserved single Christians reading this, take note of the title and make sure you get watching it in the cinema when it's released.

The film will follow the story of "a former frat boy" and "a free-spirited woman" as they take it back to basics and try "old-fashioned" courting in modern-day America. But with the film's tagline being "chivalry makes a comeback", there's every chance it's very welcome in today's lad culture society.

Doing a 50 Shades-in-reverse, the makers of the film also plan to release a novel to go alongside the movie, though we're not sure it'll be quite as groundbreaking as E L James' proved. We're sure the Christian version will be just great, swapping raw sex for spirituality and abstinence, but when you're competing against Jamie Dornan, we think we know who'll win (hands down).

Just because we know you want to, watch the 50 Shades trailer (again) here:
